We have been working hard these past few weeks to ensure that the move from primary to secondary education is as smooth as possible for our new Y6 intake. It has been a pleasure to visit students in their current settings to get valuable information from their teaching staff on academic ability, pastoral needs and interests. Of course, we have also had time with students sharing information about our school and answering their many questions and my goodness, there have been a lot of wonderful questions! We hope that any nerves they might have faced have now started to disappear.
Some Y6 students have already visited the school, our Bournville primary students enjoyed an art class this week and yesterday our SEND induction morning took place. Every time students come in, we know it will make their September start a little bit easier.
Invites have been sent out for our Induction Day on Wednesday 6th July. This will be a taste of a ‘normal’ school day at Bournville school, where students get to meet their tutor, get to find their way around the school site and have some taster lessons.
If you have not had your invite, please contact Miss Mills a.mills@bournville.fmat.co.uk
We are all working hard to make the day a success. We shall welcome students at 9.15am next Wednesday. A reminder there is also an invitation for parents to come in at 5.30pm to meet with tutors.
We look forward to seeing you then!
Miss H. Poole – Assistant Principal
