With enthusiastic support from staff and students, the house system will be relaunched from September 2023. Everyone will be allocated a place in Austin, Boulton, Cadbury or Tolkien houses, their family whilst at Bournville School. House names were selected by students back in 2017, students then chose to recognise local heroes.
Providing a sense of belonging and community is certainly one reason for their re-introduction. However, there is plenty more this initiative will bring to the school from embedding tradition, to the joy house competitions will bring. There is already healthy rivalry and ambition to win the end of year star prize, the house cup!
Already we have our logos and slogans but there is plenty more to come…
