The school council are elected students from each tutor group who are working hard to ensure students have a voice and to work towards improving the school community.
We meet fortnightly and have recently launched ‘Debate and Discuss’ sessions. These are topics that the student leaders select as key for discussion. Topics such as the canteen, the new school day, enrichment opportunities and issues related to bullying are just some of the subjects that have been debated recently. The school council leaders lead these sessions in tutor time, get feedback from their classmates, then return to the next school council meeting and share views.
There have already been changes to school operations in response to student views as school leaders value student contributions.
