Bournville School has the incredible opportunity to be working in partnership with Birmingham City Football Club this year. BCFC mentor, Ashleigh, is in school two days a week delivering the ‘Change’ mentoring programme which teaches selected students that they can dream big, aim high and overcome obstacles if they put their mind to it. Students value their mentoring sessions which give them time to discuss and reflect in small groups. They are positive about having time to develop their skills of self-regulation and resilience.
There are also regular football training sessions open to all students during social times and after school. Sessions are well attended, the opportunity to train with BCFC coaches is a fantastic incentive for students! This partnership enhances not only our enrichment programme but also supports the pastoral team by inspiring some of our most vulnerable students.
