Admissions to Bournville Secondary School

Transition Year 6 to Year 7

I am delighted that so many Year 6 parents/carers and students have chosen to come to Bournville School in September 2023. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our school community. Our staff will go the extra mile to ensure that the transition to secondary school is a positive one. I am sure you and your son/daughter will already have questions and apprehensions, about the start of their Year 7 journey. I want to assure you that all questions will be answered through our correspondence over the next couple of months and all students will be supported through their transition to Year 7. We will be hosting our transition event on Wednesday 12th July and look forward to giving students a taste of what a typical day at Bournville School is like. An induction evening for parents happens on the same day. In the meantime, we would like to encourage you to look through the school website and social media sites on Instagram and Twitter to get more information about the school. If you have any questions about the school or about the Year 6 to 7 transition please contact the school via email at post@bournville.fmat.co.uk

Proposed admission arrangements for September 2023

Bournville School prides itself on its ‘Open Door’ policy. Visitors are always welcome and are only asked to give a little advance notice of their visit so that the Principal or one of her senior colleagues can be made available to answer questions, along with teacher or student guides for a tour of the school.

Gaining a Place

If you are interested in gaining a place at the school please contact the school by emailing: Miss A Mills.

Prospective students and their families are particularly welcome at all times. However, during the first half of the Autumn term the following additional arrangements have been made.

An Open Evening will be held late September each year. Staff and students will be available to show you around the school and discuss aspects of the life and work of Bournville School, and displays and activities will be presented throughout the evening.

We also offer two Open Mornings shortly after the Open Evening. Should you wish to visit the school on one of this morning, we should be grateful if you would let us know so that sufficient guides can be made available.

Parents, or other interested members of the Community, such as employers, who are unable to attend on the occasions listed above are welcome to make an appointment to visit the school at another, more convenient time.
