Year 9 students recently had the exciting opportunity to visit University of Birmingham as part of the school’s careers and aspirations programme. The trip aimed to inspire students to think about their future pathways and explore the possibilities that higher education can offer.
During the visit, students toured the impressive university campus, including lecture halls, study spaces, and student facilities. They also took part in interactive workshops and heard from university staff and current students about university life, different courses, and the wide range of careers available after graduation.
The experience encouraged students to reflect on their own ambitions and understand the importance of setting goals early. Many students were particularly inspired by hearing about the journeys of current undergraduates and learning how subjects studied in school can lead to exciting opportunities in the future.
Staff accompanying the trip praised the students for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and excellent behaviour throughout the day. The visit formed an important part of the school’s commitment to raising aspirations and helping students make informed choices about their future education and careers.
Overall, the trip to University of Birmingham was both enjoyable and motivating, leaving students excited about the possibilities ahead and encouraging them to aim high in their future studies and careers.
