The transition from primary to secondary school is an exciting time, full of new experiences for both parent and child. At Bournville, we work very hard to ensure maximum success for all our students so they are ready for the challenges of secondary school, encouraging them to develop new friendships and relish new opportunities secondary school brings. We also work closely with Y6 teachers to ensure we receive all the required information about our new students so that we have a clear understanding about how to support them best.
We have an array of activities to support our Y6s with their transition. These include:
- Welcome postcards from our current Y7 students
- Y6 primary visits
- Y6 teacher meetings
- SENCO and Safeguarding support
