Y8 Art – Vincent Van Gogh – Mark Making

Vincent van Gogh- Mark Making

Year 8 have been exploring how the concept of mark making can be used to create the illusion of depth.

Vincent van Gogh often created landscapes using ink and willow sticks, Year 8 used these exact materials to create these expressive landscapes.

I think the range of marks used creates a sense of perspective and depth and you can definitely see that these students have understood and successfully applied the willow stick and ink technique.

For the rest of this term Year 8 will be experimenting with sgraffito, painting with coffee and acrylic paint through the ‘perspective’ theme.
