Our partnership with BCFC Foundation

Our partnership with Birmingham City Football Club Foundation demonstrates the transformative power of sport in education and community development. Together, BCFCF and Bournville School work in close partnership to inspire, motivate, and support our students to achieve their full potential.

BCFC Foundation mentor, Ash, plays a vital role through The Change Project mentoring programme, helping to raise aspirations, build confidence, and improve student engagement across the school. Through positive relationships and strong role models linked to the club, students are encouraged to believe in themselves and their futures. We see the impact every day through improved attendance, stronger behaviour, and increased pride in school life.

Beyond mentoring, the partnership provides a wide range of enrichment clubs that give students regular opportunities to develop their skills, stay active, and engage positively outside of the classroom. These sessions support both personal development and wellbeing, while also strengthening connections between students and positive role models.

Our students also benefit from unique opportunities to attend BCFC matches, experiencing the excitement of professional football and deepening their connection to the club. In addition, selected groups are able to train using BCFC’s professional facilities, giving them a real insight into elite sporting environments and raising their aspirations both on and off the pitch.

One of the most important strengths of this partnership is the consistency and professionalism of BCFC Foundation staff. They are not just visitors to our school; they are trusted partners who understand our students, build strong relationships, and provide ongoing support that makes a lasting difference.

Together, Bournville School and Birmingham City Football Club Foundation are using the power of sport to engage, inspire, and empower the next generation.
