Hits Radio interviews Head Boy and Girl candidates

Bournville All-Through School welcomed Hits Radio to campus this week as pupils entered the final stages of their Head Boy and Head Girl campaigns.

Their reporter spent time interviewing several candidates and were extremely impressed by their confidence, ideas and maturity.

The visit coincided with local elections taking place across England, giving pupils a real‑time connection to the democratic processes they are learning about in school.

Throughout the campaign period, candidates have been designing posters, sharing their visions for the school and preparing speeches for our in‑school hustings. Pupils across the school have had the opportunity to listen to each candidate, ask questions and consider who best represents our school values.

This experience has helped pupils understand democracy in action – from campaigning and public speaking to fairness, respect and making informed choices.

Election Day at Bournville takes place tomorrow, Friday 8 May, and excitement is building across the school.

We are incredibly proud of every pupil taking part. Standing for election takes courage, and our candidates have shown real enthusiasm and responsibility throughout the process.
