Bournville All-Through School

In the Know – Spring 2

Bournville School has enjoyed a vibrant and successful Spring 2 half term, marked by student achievement, creativity, and strong community spirit. Across the school, pupils have embraced a wide range of opportunities, from outstanding performances in the Pop and Rock Gala to engaging theatre experiences such as Macbeth and a Globe Theatre trip to see Romeo and Juliet. These events helped build confidence, teamwork, and a love of the arts.

A major highlight has been the impact of the school’s Alternative Provision, which continues to transform the lives of students through personalised support, small-group learning, and vocational pathways. This reflects the school’s commitment to ensuring every child can thrive.

Students have also benefited from enriching educational experiences, including the Smashed Project on alcohol awareness, World Book Day celebrations, and Safer Internet Day activities focused on responsible AI use. Meanwhile, trips such as the Cyber Girls First workshop have inspired students to explore future careers in technology.

Staff development was another key success, with the FMAT Conference providing inspiration and practical strategies to enhance teaching and wellbeing. Alongside this, the launch of the school’s new website has made it easier for families to access resources and support learning at home.

Overall, the half term has showcased Bournville’s dedication to excellence, inclusion, and opportunity, with students demonstrating resilience, enthusiasm, and pride in all they do.
