Y6 embrace adventure on PGL Boreatton Park residential

Our Year 6 trip to PGL -Boreatton Park once again proved to be a superb experience for everyone, building the children’s confidence, communication and resilience, while showing them that success comes from working together.

After settling into our accommodation, we jumped straight into the activities, starting with the PGL Vertical Challenge and the ever-popular Giant Swing. It was great to see students show their adventurous side and have a go!

A firm favourite was Aeroball, a cross between basketball and trampolining, where pupils competed in teams to score points. The team games and sensory trail encouraged a reliance on senses and on each other through a range of fun but challenging activities. The day quite literally ended on a high with a ride on the giant zip wire.

We were fortunate with the weather for most of the trip. Thursday treated us to warm sunshine and clear skies, with just a little rain on Friday. The children took on abseiling and archery with plenty of enthusiasm and, despite the drizzle, the residential was a huge success.

The pupils were wonderfully behaved and were a credit to themselves and the school. They returned home with new skills, stronger friendships and plenty of brilliant memories that will stay with them as they move together through the school. Thank you to Mr Newton and Miss Hathaway for arranging this visit and providing them with memories they will always remember.
