At Bournville we take pride in our diverse community and believe in the importance of celebrating our different backgrounds. Our school is home to students and families from a wide range of cultures and we value the richness this diversity brings to our learning environment.
We were thrilled to host another Culture Day on Friday, 23rd May. Students and staff dressed up in clothing that represented their language, culture or heritage, and it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the students’ own cultures whilst learning about the diverse backgrounds within our school community. All year groups were able to participate in a range of activities from Bhangra dance lessons, cultural music and the opportunity to try a variety of traditional foods as well as explore a range of cultural figures through curriculum work. It was great to see everybody taking part and celebrating the unique diversity that makes Bournville such a welcoming place.
Congratulations to student leaders too who raised £85 by selling samosas for Unicef!
A memorable day and a great way to the finish the half term.
