The Fairfax Multi Academy Trust is overseen by the Board of Directors. Each school’s local Governing Body is known as the Academy Association and has representatives of the school staff, parents and members of the local community. They meet as a Full Academy Association six times per year and carry out a number of important functions.
They are responsible for appointing the Head teacher and supporting Mrs. Jo Cottle in the leadership of Bournville. Although they do not manage the operational running of the school, they help to set the strategic direction, create and review policies, objectives and targets which are presented to them by Bournville staff. They approve the Bournville budget and review the progress against it. They provide challenge and hold the school leadership to account. The mantra which the association work to is “Being a Critical Friend “.
Parents/Carers and members of the local community are invited to join the Academy Association (for a period of four years). It is not something that should be entered into lightly as meetings regularly last a few hours.
The chair of Academy Associates is Lara Kiltie and if you wish to contact her or any member of the Academy Association, you can e-mail on [email protected]
