Parents and Parenting Advice
As a school we are here to support students in their learning and educational life. But we also
acknowledge that this learning involves parents / carers as well. So in reply to requests made,
here is a list of resources that we've collected together that we hope will help both parent
and carer in their endeavors to support their child.

The Advisory Centre for Education is a charity offering information about state education offering free telephone advice on many
subjects regarding school age children.
The Parent centre is a website for all parents who want to help their children to learn.

Parentalk is a national parenting charity dedicated to equipping parents to make the most of parenting.
The National Family and Parenting Institute is a charity working to support parents in bringing up their children,
to promote the wellbeing of families and to make society more family friendly.
Parenting UK is the national umbrella body for people who work with parents. It developed the national Occupational
Standards for Work with parents.
A charity which offers a wide range of education and support for schools, families and communities, including the Active
Dads and It's a ManThing programmes.
Positive parenting is a charity which offers parenting training and support.
Relate is a charity which offers relationship support, including parent-child relationships.
