Homework 2011 - 2012

Notes:

1. Student Progress Leaders (SPLs) are tasked, early in the Autumn Term, to monitor and report on any unevenness in the loading through the week of KS3 students. They may ask teachers to change their regular HW day in order to even things up.
2. Teachers will be making sure that tasks do not take too much time, matched to the ability of the students. Most students will have 2 or 3 HW set each day:
• In KS4, tasks should take around 45 min or more
• In Y9, the tasks should take between 30 – 40 min
• In Y7 & Y8, the task should take between 20 - 25 min
3. SPLs and Directors of Learning will be regularly monitoring frequency and quality of HW and report to the Deputy Head Provision.

Y7 students are expected to complete 45 – 90 minutes a day of HW

Each HW should take around 20 - 25 min.

If the timetable says "IT or Art", it means that only one of these subjects will set HW on that day. If you have IT set on that day then you will have Art HW set on the day when it says "Art or IT" or vice versa. The same rule works for Drama and Music.

The timetabling for RS, History and Geography means specific night cannot be given for the whole of X or Y band. Class teachers will assign which day in the fortnight for HW so that it is set twice within the two weeks.

Don't forget to check Eportal for what has been set

Art will set HW in every lesson as they only have one double in the whole fortnight.
