PLAY FAIR
We aim to raise awareness of the concept of "Playing Fair" in its widest context. To include the fight
against racism, drug abuse, gamesmanship, gender bias, and cheating, which take place within our diverse
societies.
The seven schools involved in the project will be promoting the "Play Fair" theme through various activities and events over 3 years.
Within PE this year, our year 9 Living for Sport group of girls have had the opportunity to design and teach games to each other and to primary school children. Central to these games was the concept of playing fair and its role within sport. Pupils have also had the chance to design a play fair t-shirt logo, the winning design of which will be printed on t-shirts for the next meeting. Year 10 Sports Leaders have discussed the importance of fair play and their responsibility to enforce playing fair in the activities that they are leading. Two year 12 students went to Austria in February 2007 to meet the other students on the project from the partner schools. Please look at the photo's to see what they did.
Aside from all the mini tasks achieved during the project, the Play Fair project will culminate in a Festival of activities which will encompass the traditions from all partner schools.
