Check List On Health & Safety
- Have you been told about health and safety at your work placement?
- Have you been given written information about health and safety?
- Have you been told about the hazards and risks associated with your placement?
- Are you aware of the health and safety rules relevant to your particular situation?
- Do you know which areas are out of bounds to you?
- Do you know the meanings of symbols or signs you are likely to encounter in your job?
- Will you need to wear protective clothing?
- If so, when will you wear it? & Where will you wear it?
- Do you know what to do in the event of an accident or sudden illness?
- Do you know what to do in the event of a fire or other emergency?
- Do you know where the toilets and washrooms are?
- If relevant: do you know what traffic rules there are?
- Do you know what to do if you are late of absent?
- Have you informed your employer of any personal health issues?

Signs to watch out for
Yellow and black triangles are warning signs that tell you to take care.
Green square show safe conditions.
Red squares show where fire-fighting equipment is found.
Red and White circles with a bar across them and black markings tell you what you must not do.
