Bournville Senior Netball Team (2011)

Bournville Senior Netball Team

Bournville's Senior (Year 10 and 11) netball team have competed in the Kings Norton and District Netball League for 2011. Due to the success as a Year 9 team, Bournville were promoted to the tough challenge of competing in Division 1, including playing against several independent schools!

During the season Bournville have played:
  • King Edward Five Ways A and B team
  • Edgbaston High School for Girls A and B team
  • King Edward Camp Hill
  • Swanhurst
  • Colmers
  • Kings Norton Girls School

The team played all matches away, and were lucky to play several matches in lovely sunshine when the weather was dry and sunny, as well as in Sports Halls when the weather was a little damp. This was a good experience for the girls.

The results were as follows:
  • King Edward Five Ways: (A) 10 - 22 and (B) 17 - 30
  • Edgbaston High School for Girls: (A) 6 - 28 and (B) 7 - 19
  • King Edward Camp Hill: 26 - 19
  • Swanhurst: 13 - 10
  • Colmers: 12 - 26
  • Kings Norton Girls School: (A) 19 - 30

The team was represented by: Maurica Thompson, Hannah Ford and Abbie Swift as the three shooters; as well as Kaytie Poston, Naomi Powell, Hollie Syner, Sydnie Cook, Rebecca Matthews, Lauren Weston, Lilly Dakinuvosa, Hannah Stewart, Chloe Palmer and Athima Bunkhan, which is a great accolade to have 13 players represent the team throughout the season.

Well done to all the girls who have represented the team this year.
